Dear Family,
It's officially summer in Milwaukee. The "Summer Fest" kick-off started on Thursday night, June 26th! We must say, the Mid-West sure knows how to appreciate their summers. It's nothing like we have ever experienced in California. Droves of people from all over Wisconsin funneled through the city to enjoy Jazz in Cathedral Park in downtown Milwaukee which takes place every Thursday evening/night throughout the summer. Then everyone made their way down to theLake Front to hear a free concert, The Milwaukee Symphony and a local Rock Band, The Gufs. The mixture of the symphony and the band was music to our ears (great)! It was a beautiful night, but you must come equipped with your bug repellant (it's part of the Mid-West culture/necessity). The night ended with a Fire Works display at the USCG port (mom, you would know this area. It's where we went bike riding by the light house).
Wish all of you could be here to enjoy!
Love,
Donna & John
